The Rossi Family
DH: Merritt Henry Rossi "Merry" (29)
DW: Ruby Mahalia [Barton] Rossi (27)
Location: San Francisco, California
Do they have any children already?: no
Their naming style: unique, words, classical, ancient
Family background (how they met, what do they do for living, why they decided to adopt, what languages do they speak etc., give as much or little detail as you want):
Merritt was the second son born to Emmaline and Dixon Rossi, third oldest of seven. The Rossis attended the local Catholic church every week for as long as Merry can remember and when he went off to college, he continued that to the best of his ability. While at college, he had doubts about his faith but learned more about it, eventually falling in love with it. He went on after college to work as a mental health therapist. He speaks fluent Italian due to his father's side of the extended family still lives there.
Ruby was the only child of well-to-do parents Caroline and Felix Barton. Growing up, her family didn't really have any religious beliefs. When she moved to California for college, she had a beautiful encounter with God and became a Catholic after delving into the faith and loving it. After she graduated, she and a friend started up a catering business called BB's. She speaks fluent Spanish as well as French (fancy education perks).
Merry and Ruby met by chance at the airport. Ruby was going to visit her parents in Boston and Merry was going to the same location to visit friends from college. They were placed in seats right next to each other on the flight there and hit it off, exchanging numbers at the end of the flight. Neither could stop thinking about the other, so they chose to meet up again back in San Francisco. A year and a half later, Merry proposed and Ruby responded with an exuberant yes. They were married six months later.
A little over a year ago, the couple found out that they couldn't have children of their own. After a lot of thought and prayer, they decided that adoption was the option for them. Adoption form
Age range?: newborn to six
Gender preference?: either
Are they willing to adopt multiples?: yes
Domestic or international adoption?: either
If international, where from around the world do they want to adopt?: anywhere
Are they willing to adopt children with disabilities?: yes
Are they willing to adopt children that were raised in different religion?: yes
Are they willing to adopt children who do not speak their language?: yes
Do they plan to add any more biological children to their family?: no
Any other information? (anything else you want to add): they're interested in fostering children as well, in which case older children are welcome“The world is indeed full of peril and in it there are many dark places.
But still there is much that is fair. And though in all lands, love is now
mingled with grief, it still grows, perhaps, the greater.”
