King: Farin, son of Frár
King: Ibûn, son of Torbûn
Adopted son: Tyr
Crown princess: Eira
Of the illustrious Royal House of: Durin
In the Kingdom of: Erebor
Farin decided to have a child due to pressure from the rest of the royal house and the people of Erebor. Ibûn agreed and was ready for another child, knowing how to finally handle Tyr at age 2,5. Tyr is excited to have a baby sister, though he'd have preferred a baby brother.
Farin and ibûn thought it would be best to get a surrogate mother - they contacted some other dwarf kingdoms, as they figured a mother from Erebor would maybe be shunned by or lose reputation amongst the people. A princess of another kingdom offered herself, and she carried the child; Farin thought it best to have a mother of nobility, to avoid further controversy. They formed a strong friendship. Ibûn was jealous at times, but Farin promised him that if they were to have a another child, it would be Ibûn's.
After the medics had declared the young princess stable, her mother left for her own kingdom again - though they'd mutually agreed that she could come visit whenever she liked.
A daughter was fine; there were no set rules about heirs, so a girl could succeed Farin onto the throne. They're just happy she's finally healthy.
