[Opinions] WDYTO Marcantony?
I've recently come across this boy name, Marcantony, combination of the name Marcus Antonius. I think it's fresher than Marc Anthony. Marcantony as a singular name sounds cool, edgy and beats all the Sawyer's and Beckett's out there. What's your take?Any middle names to pair it with?Marcantony Alexander
Marcantony Adam
Marcantony Benedict
Marcantony Kieran
Marcantony Zachary
Marcantony Eduardo
Marcantony Daniel
Marcantony Raphael
Marcantony Valerian

I like it! It's not hideous, I think it's very nice.

I prefer MarcAnthony. Marc-Anthony. Marc Anthony. Mark-etcAntony always makes me think of Mexicans immergrants saying the name and completely dropping the H out. Ugh...
My nephews name (who's half-mexican) name is constantly said as "Antony" rather than "Anthony" like "No, that's not his name. Just call him Tony then!" Since Marcantony is a long name, Marcantony Adam or Daniel.I'd fine shorter names to pair it withJames
Drew
Cole
Seth
Paul
Dan
Scott
Judd
Kai
Wes
Etc etc etc

I don't like it. I generally don't like names that are mushed together.

I think it's awful. It makes me think of macaroni and looks like a smoosh of letters. I think Marc Antony with or without a hyphen would be so much nicer.Marc Antony Raphael, Marc Anthony Adam, or something would be better.

I was reading it wrongUntil I saw your explanation. I was reading it as either 'Marc And Tony' (somehow mentally adding a 'd') or 'Mar Can't Ony'. Also, I really don't like it.

I first thought it said "merchandise" or something like that...

I also saw "Marc an' Tony".
I also don't like it and really don't get why Mark Anthony is such a popular combo. No way do so many people care about the Roman Empire.

"Marc an' Tony"Yes, that. But before this thread, I wasn't even aware Mark Anthony was a popular combo. I couldn't even begin to guess why.

I actually really like it. I think people are more used to seeing names like Michelangelo or Giancarlo or other really Italian smushes, but in this case it works just as well for English versions. It also is a well known combo so smushing it isn't weird, and it flows well as one word. Thumbs up from me.I want to like Marcantony Alexander but it's a bit heavy. Same with Benedict.Marcantony Gabriel
Marcantony Julian
Marcantony Thomas
Marcantony Phillip
Marcantony George
Marcantony Charles

Absolutely notIf you have to, just use Marcus Antonius. Seriously, ew. As to middle names...Alexander, Benedict, or Valerian.

Sorry, but NO. Absolutely not.

UghIt took me a minute to get my head around it. I just don't understand it. Mark Antony is bad enough in itself - it's like being called Julius Caesar or something. But making it a combination name.. why???????

Um...honesty, the first thing that came to my mind when I saw this was macaroni (because the intuitive pronunciation when I see this is "mar-can-tony" which would rhyme with mac-a-roni).Beyond that, it seems clunky and overblown. Needlessly confusing.I don't think there's anything wrong with Marc Anthony or Marc Antony...But I like the middle names?

Nope. I'd rather see a Sawyer or Beckett, and that's saying something.
While we're at it, why can't it just be Marc Antony? Why does it have to be a hideous conglomerate?
