After the years of angst and uncertainity happy times continued to reign in Sweden as the family welcomed three new grandchildren and celebrated two marriages. First Princess Marianne married her long time boyfriend Prince Christian of Denmark. As Christian is far away from the Danish throne the couple decided to stay in Sweden and found a residence near the lake Mälaren. It was already visible during the nuptials that there was a new Prince or Princess on the way as Princess Loredana appeared with her husband, daughter and visible bump hiding under her lace dress. She wasn't however the only pregnant lady there as Athéne Bernadotte, the wife of Axel Bernadotte adopted son of the late Queen Lovisa and King Peter, was spoting similar bump. Six years after their marriage there were strong rumors going around the kingdom that the couple was infertile the latest turn of events proving everyone wrong. Guillaume Bernadotte was born on a sunny October afternoon, just a day before Prince Magnus and his wife Loredana, welcomed their second daughter Desirée.
When the youngest child Prince Carl Joachim married Natalia Radziwill a year later in a intimate ceremony, it was clear there was another grandchild on the way. Princess Marianne of Denmark was expecting her first child. The pregnancy was a rough one and the Princess has been rarely seen in public since the announcement was made. Maybe as a satisfaction her first child, a daughter, was born at their lake house after a very easy birth. Marianne and Christian decided to name their first daughter Alexandra. The little one is said to look like the late Queen.
As a contrary of the hapiness of the younger generation, there are strong rumors that not everything is going well for the former King. His marriage to Anna von Arbin is said to be a difficult one and the couple is said to be living separately for the past six months, only time will tell if the rumors are true.
