In the Kingdom of: StranzburgTwenty years have past in the kingdom, and much has changed. As the royal family gathers to celebrate the life and mourn the death of the great Dowager Empress Monica, they reflect all that has come to pass over these years. As new laws in Stranzburg made gay marriage legal, Johann and Cristobal were welcomed back into the family. While Johann can never reclaim his place as Emperor (he wouldn't want to!), he did receive a special knightship in the kingdom, given to only the most elite people in the land. He, Cristobal, and their 2 children continue to live in Barbados. They enjoy frequent visits to the family in Stranzburg, and Ariadne is attending university there.Duke Sebastian's and Duchess Louise's family continued to grow. And grow. They had a total of 7 children! The continue to live very happily and recently celebrated the marriage of their eldest child, Florian, to a lovely Englishwoman he met at Oxford. They are overjoyed! The ornery Emperor Wilhelm (to whom his subjects fondly refer as "The cranky king" ) continues to rule with a bad temper, and is constantly being overruled by Parliament on his rash and ruthless decisions. He grew more and more angry with each subsequent daughter his poor wife bore. Finally, after 4 daughters, a son was born. The emperor rejoiced and maybe became slightly less cranky. And, of course, he named his son for himself. Archduchess Christiana continued to travel and fell in love with a Scotsman named Geoffrey McLeod while in Thailand. They married and live in Scotland where they own a large company that researches new, cleaner sources of energy. Christiana always knew she did not want to marry a noble, and she is very happy with her husband and 2 children, Alex and Elspeth ("Elsie").Archduchess Agatha and Lord Max have been through some trials. They nearly divorced 5 years ago when it was discovered that Lord Max had not only had an affair with a Norwegian actress, but had also fathered her child! The royal family became concerned as the marriage of Agatha and Max had been incredibly important in uniting these 2 families. They have slowly rebuilt their marriage and have reach some level of happiness. They have 3 wonderful children. The youngest of the royal children, Archduchess Philippa married a Hungarian vikomt with whom she has 4 boys. She is perfectly happy in a household of testosterone and wouldn't have it any other way!Empress Monica's 6 children (including Sir Johann, who, while not her child by birth, had been embraced by the empress as her own) and 23 grandchildren all gathered to honor the woman who did so much for the kingdom and for the family.
