I want to love Nell so much but I think of the strongly mediocre Jodie Foster movie. That association kind of turns me away. But I heartily suggest it for someone else!
I also like Nella, esp. as a nickname for Eleanora.
Lets try something earthy in the middle:
Nell Amethyst
Nell Hazel
Nell Lavender
Nell Daisy
Nell Iris
Nell Winter
Nell Jessamyn
Others:

ETA: As I'm typing it, it kind of looks a lot like Neil. It might get confused on a roster or whatevs.
