Well of course I'm voting for Abraham as I like the name, it's on my PNL, and I have a grandson named Abraham nn Bram. I don't really like Emmanuel anyway.
Aren't you an atheist? Emmanuel seems to me to be overtly religious, in a way that other Biblical names are not.
I have no idea how American Abraham is. Lincoln is the first thing I think of when I hear the name.
What I don't get is why "American" somehow equals "undesirable". It's interesting that I've seen Britons and Australians ask about, or comment upon, names being "too American" several times, but I've never seen Americans say a name is "too British."
