Message: "Elton" - Behind the Name

I'm trying to decide if I should like Elton or not... I'd never consider it as a first name, but maybe as a (second) middle.
Could people get past the Elton John thing? And apart from that, what do you think of Elton?

It is way too tied to Elton John for me, but I would think that it is okay as a middle name.

I immediately think of Elton John.I think most people will think that.Its alright

I would not easily get past the reference to Elton John, myself. Unless I saw him very often. I think the name sounds too surnamey and formal. It seems cold and stuckup to me. Elton John's a talented and quirky person who could carry off almost any name, but an average guy might seem to find it heavy to carry IMO.

I agree with this. I knew someone named Alton (ALL-ton) and that was easier to pull off, but not by much. It didn't seem to be a great first name to have.

I love Elton, I think its masculine and strong but still with a softer sound. I would totally use it.
