[Opinions] Re: Amber

I love the name Amber, but it's a perfect example to me of how popularity (in this case, former popularity) ruins a name. I love the way it sounds and the image of the color and of (well, duh) amber the object that it conjures up.
But because of how popular it was in the 70s, 80s, and 90s, it has acquired a "bimbo cheerleader" image for many. It really soared in the 70s only to start dropping around 2000, so it might seem like a fad and is definitely on its way to being dated if it isn't already.
I knew when I was having children in the 80s that it was popular, so I never considered using it, despite how much I loved it. I didn't want to have a "born-in-the-80s-so-no-surprise-you're named Amber" daughter.
I'm no good at combos, but I think that Amber and Scarlett make a cool sibset.
