What kind of image do you get from Rebecca? What would a Rebecca look like and be like?
And the same for Victoria?
Do you get the same image for both or different?
Inspired by a conversation with my daughter, who said she gets the same image from the names, to which I replied I get very different ones. To me, Rebecca is a pretty farm girl, fresh, simple and unsophisticated. Victoria is sophisticated, knowledgeable, complex, and elegant.
And the same for Victoria?

I get a very different vibe from each, but I love one and hate the other. I'm sure that colors my opinion.

Honestly, both names are so boring to me that no distinct images come to mind. I kind of like wholesome and doe-eyed Rebecca.

I've only known one Rebecca, my Grandmother.So that's the image I get. Tall, stoutish but strong, white hair. Nice, certainly.And capable! She raised 9 children, and they all turned out well. (well, one uncle was a drinker. But always had a job.)
Victoria is my daughter's middle name. So I think of her.

Rebecca is a girl who always gets her own way. She uses her confidence and voice to persuade people to agree with her view and ideas. Even though this may sound like she's stuck up, people actually like her. She is also very pretty.
Victoria, on the other hand, is also used to getting her own way, however she does this by pointing out other people's flaws and sneering at them, making people feel awkward and lose their confidence. She's is not generally liked by people. She is also not the most attractive of people.

Rebecca: traditional, conservative, sharp/spiffy but not vain, smart and well-spoken (think Hermione Granger), could be urbane or not.
Victoria: bold, expressive, competent, competitive, smart, proud
They're similar enough to be sisters, both smart and respectable, but V seems more sensuous and modern than R, and R seems more understated and reliable than V.
Becky is friendlier and more modest, Vicki is more finicky and can be prickly, but both are basically nice, and do their part. When Becky is a bitch she is blunt and condescending; when Vicki is a bitch she is catty and cruel.

No, very different vibes. Rebecca is down-to-earth and doesn't take herself too seriously. Victoria tries too hard to be sophisticated and she takes herself very seriously.

I get different vibes from Becky and Vicki too. Becky is immature, Vicki is spunky and brisk. Tori is a snotty cheerleader, Becca is a little kid, and Reba is like somebody on Hee Haw.

I get a similar vibe from them both, they were very popular in the 80s in the UK and are not so common anymore, so I guess I see them as slightly dated.

I love both, but like you, I get the same fresh vibe from Rebecca while Victoria is definitely more complex all the way around.
BTW, my middle child has always gone by her mn, Brooke, until the last several years where she prefers for people in her college/business environment to call her Victoria. I find this fascinating and I asked her if her new friends realize that her family and old friends call her Brooke. Yes. Do they use a nn for Victoria? No, apparently. I don't know how she balances it all, but she doesn't seem to mind. That's why options are always good on the bc!

Based on the Rebecca I know: bubbly, smart, confident, athletic, more religious than average, approx 5'6", has elbow length brown hair.
If I base Victoria on myself: aloof, intellectually curious, wry, stubborn, pragmatic, adventurous, approx 5'9", chin length dark auburn hair.
(I think they're both complex; the main difference to me is that Victoria seems more reserved, and it has no religious connection.)

I also get the country-girl vibe from Rebecca, for which I blame Sunnybrook Farm though I found the book too boring to persist with, long ago. And I'm with you on Victoria as well, but that's based on the one Victoria I've known, and another friend whose full name, to her mild disapproval, is Vickie.
