[Opinions] Lucy
Lately, I have been thinking about the name Lucy. I think it is cute and spunky, yet sweet, simple and sophisticated. I used to think it was too "old lady" sounding or made me think of Lucille Ball "I Love Lucy" (not that this is really a bad connection, I used to love the show). Anyway, what do you think of Lucy by itself? I don't really care for it as short for Lucille, Lucinda, etc. Our daughter's name is Claire Nicole Provancha so we like names that are short and simple yet classic and more old-fashioned than trendy. What middle name suggestions would you use with Lucy? Lucy _____________ Provancha
Thanks for your help.

I love Lucy (sorry :-/), and just Lucy. I'm not really crazy about any of the names it can be short for, either, and I think it's just fine on its own, definitely a full name in its own right. And Lucy & Claire definitely sound like sisters. :)
Some Lucy combos I personally love:
Lucy Violet
Lucy Adelaide
Lucy Camille
Lucy Imogen
Lucy Matilda
Lucy Ophelia (these last two might not work with your ln, though)
Lucy Adele
Lucy Eleanor
Lucy Rosalind
Lucy Josephine
Lucy Maude
Lucy Isabel

I used to love this name. But now I can't get away from the "loose" sound to it. Not appealing.
And it's too old fashioned for my personal taste.
However, I would find it sweet on the right child; someone else's, I mean.
I think it sounds fine with Claire, also.
Lucy Amanda, perhaps?
I sort of liked the suggestion Lucy Grace. Short, simple, classic.

Some middle names I like with Lucy include:
Lucy Evelyn
Lucy Elizabeth
Lucy Antonia
Lucy Tamsin
Lucy Matilda
Lucy Romaine
Lucy Frances
Lucy Jane
Lucy Susanna
Lucy Christine
Lucy Constance
Lucy Elaine
Lucy Amelia
I think it's a great choice of name, by the way. In my opinion it works very well by itself without having another name as a "full" name. Lucy and Claire make a very nice sibset.
