[Opinions] Richardine
Richardine is the feminine form of Richard. What do you think of it? Would you use it, or no?——

I'm currently trawling through Wikipedia pages on medieval ladies, and Richardine reminds me of a lot of the names I'm seeing there - like Richilde, Richenza and Richardis.I wouldn't use Richardine, it doesn't do much for me. It's really tough to feminize Richard! There's Richmal, which is apparently a name... also I admit to growing fond of Richardis.

No, I wouldn't - Richard is just too predominate for me. It sounds like little Richardine's parents wanted to name her after her father (or someone) so badly that it didn't matter how it sounded, as long as Richard was in there. It's not awful though. (Sidenote: it sure beats Donaldina.) Reminds me of a family friend of ours, Ralphine.

Sorry but I think it looks and sounds ridiculous. The 70's are over.

Add onPeople would probably assume that the unfortunate girl has a really masculine name set and that that her name is Richard Dean. Maybe there are better "feminine" Richard variations. I just don't think Richardine is one if them.

I never heard of it and it doesn't appeal to me in the least. It actually doesn't even come across as remotely feminine

This is my first encounter with the name, so it is new to me; because of this, I would not be hasty to express an opinion. I find it interesting and would need time to consider and then reconsider it again.

Given that I don't like Richard, there's no place for Richardine in my heart. It's on par with Geraldine.

No. Richard is so strong and masculine that it defies feminine versions, and this is quite an unwieldy clunky attempt.

I wouldn't use it. It sounds contrived.

I think there's a very good reason this one has never caught on. It sucks.

Ugh, I think it's ugly. Ricarda isn't so bad, though.
