Help[Opinions] Faith... on a boy?
Recently, I met a guy named Faith! I was really surprised. He's in his mid-twenties. WDYT of Faith as a masculine name?

I'm not a huge fan, tbh... Though, I suppose that as a second name it wouldn't be that bad.

On either gender, you'd have to be reallyreallyreally devout for it to work at all. And since there's n way of telling what a new baby might grow up to believe or disbelieve, such names are best avoided. Add to that the fact that, like Hope and Charity, such names are historically female, and I'm as surprised as you were.

Faith is a virtue for atheists too... just not faith in the existence of gods.
I think the name works okay for a guy. It's just a matter of getting past the natural assumption that it's a woman's name.

Quite frequently, atheists are kind & caring, loyal, dependable trustworthy and, of course, faithful individuals.

You know, I like it! I want to like Faith as a name, but I just don't. But somehow thinking of it in a masculine way it makes it much better.

Why not? There is nothing feminine about this word or concept; albeit the frequent convention of females with this name assignment.

Generally I dislike all virtue names in general because I find them really cheesy for one thing but I don't see "Faith" a good name for a male. I mean the diminutive and possible nickname of "Fay\Faye" is even worse on a male

I just don't like the name Faith in general. I like it slightly better on a boy, but not by much.
