ROZalind, not ROSEalind, "because" it's originally Germanic, not Romance. The ros- component is "horse", not "fragrant flower", and the -lind bit is "snake", not "pretty".
Plus, I've never heard the Roz pronunciation used where I live, though I was alarmed on first hearing Mrs Jimmy Carter's name on a rather bad radio channel. When I confirmed that she was Rosalyn, I relaxed.
I'm with you on AYLI - excellent play, excellent characters. I've always had a lot of respect for Celia, too.
I wouldn't use Rosalind myself, because of personal associations. But it is a nice name, for those who don't know my former colleague!
