Hamilton admitted to Zella in her 6th month that he was hoping for a son, so the boy could carry his name.
"Oh, God," thought Zella, "have mercy."
Luckily, that was not to be. Madeleine Summer instead took her name from Zella's mother, Anna Magdalena, and the fact that she was born in August. Though considering how much the kid likes to beat up the neighborhood boys, maybe Hamilton would have been a more suitable moniker...
"Night fell, lots of large stars came out, and the Hemulen loved his park all the better. It was wide and mysterious; one could lose one's way in it and still be at home."
