Zella convinced Hamilton that naming their third child after him would not be a good idea.
"After all, love," Zella said. "One of you would have to go by 'Ham.'"
Instead, they named him James Laurent, because Zella had always thought that James was a nice name, and Hamilton had had several relatives name Laurence or Lorenz or something of that nature.
Both Nora and Madeleine were so pleased to have a little brother that once he was older James started asking for one, too...
"Night fell, lots of large stars came out, and the Hemulen loved his park all the better. It was wide and mysterious; one could lose one's way in it and still be at home."
