Alendra is interesting and pretty. Is it related to Alexandra?

Alendra
From what I understand, it's like a contracted form of Alexandra. I first heard it on someone in college, and haven't heard it in real life since.
The strange part was when I looked up past usage statistics to add it to this site, and found a bunch of late 19th century European men (mainly Italian or Spanish) named Alendra. No idea what it could have derived from in that case!
