[Opinions] Grover
Grover is one of those names that I've always really, really liked but assumed was unusable. Now that that I'm trying for a baby it has been in my head again. Do you think Grover is usable? What would you think if you met one? What middle names would go well?I know I've got Sesame Street going against me.

I met a Grover about a year ago. Siblings were Truett, Kaia and Zoe. My first thought was Sesame Street followed by Grover Cleveland. I don't think it's really usable. I will also point out that Zoe announced to me "Yes, I know both names are from Sesame Street" before I even thought of it!

Sesam Street - in an out or elsewhere, what the hey!I like Grover too, even though i don´t like -ER-Names for usually
(my exceptional case is Oliver), they look too much like SN´s, IMO.So, my first intention was Grover Washington. We, in our clique, like his music in my younger days, (-: and was considered as cool style to hear this kind of music ... (R&B, Funk + Fusion-Jazz)
I you want take a look at Wikipedia.Bye

If I associated Grover with a jazz-funk / soul-jazz saxophonist, I'd probably like it more.

Lovable Furry Old Grover is still going strong, and he probably will keep going strong.
Since Lovable Furry Old is pretty much the only association most people have with the name (Grover Cleveland was president twice but that was well before anybody's living memory) I'd say it's not usable.

Hi !!!I'm sincere...
I have no links with this name. So it is a white page for me...I like its sound.
It is interesting!Well...I dislike all names which seems surnames...But Grover is better than others..yes. I would not use it but it is ok! Maybe I would use it for a story! XDByeeeeeee

Well, Grover is one of my top boys names and is a serious possibility for a boy one day if I ever have one. So I definitely think it's useable.I don't think the Sesame Street convection is a bad thing. I went to school with an Elmo, and he did just fine. There are plenty of Oscars and Zoes around. I think Grover the blue muppet is cute.Grover is also presidential so you've got two very different associations there for balance.I would love to meet a little Grover.

My associations with Grover:1. Sesame Street
2. the word "grody"
3. red rover (game)
4. Grover ClevelandMy initial inclination is to say it's unusable, but that's mainly because of my #2, which probably isn't that common an association, so...I dunno. If you really like it, I think it'd be better as a MN.

definitely the muppet! lol actually, I don't care for most names associated with kids'-show characters. (save for Zoe and a few others)
