Unless the name is something that sounds particularly rhymey and hard to say - like, with two syllables and the stress on the first one, and no distinct consonant before the -man (Loman, Newman, Norman, Herman, Freeman, Truman). Then, I might think twice about it. But it wouldn't be disastrous - more just distinctive.

Alliteration and names with repeating sounds are considered cool and "famous" sounding.

If you love the combo, just go with it. It will only make the name stand out more.

I think you should go with whatever you like best; Roman is popular, and I don't think two -man names in a row would be an issue to most people.

This reminds me of the actress Debra Messing whose son's name is Roman Zelman.

It will be okay. It may not be the best, but as someone else who has a name ending in -man, I made no small effort to convince my husband of Coleman and Solomon (close enough to -man it might bother some)

Roman Michael is a very handsome combo, and I'm not a big fan of Roman otherwise. I think if your last name is also 2 syllables and has the emphasis falling the same way then I'd really try to find another last name. But the first -man surname I could think of to test it out with (Peterman, ftr), I think sounds ok because the "man" is pretty broken up.

Personally, I don't think it sounds right when it rhymes. Bear in mind that for most of his life he will be called Roman ...man, as most people don't use their middle name. Maybe you could use Roman as a middle name.
