This is the problem with names. Being disassociated from their origin and meaning, names of different origin are easily assimilated in spelling. E.g. Jenny short for Cornish Jennifer, and Jenny the diminutive of Jane or Jean, from Hebrew Yochanan (John) through a Greek feminine form Ioanna.
