Hi !!!!Can you suggest me some Japanese names?Yes, I KNOW that there is a section on BTN...
But..I want your opinion.
Names that you like because of their sound, their meaning...
Or...nanes from your personal life or...names from manga&Anime.Please...write because you suggest a name.
My desire is to find names but also have your opinion about them, not only a list.Nothing special...few words XDByeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

I really like Akane, Aina, Airi, Hikari, Haruna, Natsuki, Takara, and Yuuna for girls. I just find them all to be beautiful and soft sounding; Akane also has the meaning of "red," which I love because red is a favorite color of mine. Aina and Airi sound sweet and kind, as do Hikari and Haruna. I started liking Hikari and Natsuki after hearing them in an anime somewhere (don't remember where,) and Takara reminds me of Katara, from the show Avatar, and I loved that name. Yuuna. . . . Yuuna is just really pretty, ha ha.For boys I like Ryuu and Yuuto, Ryuu because I love the meaning and Yuuto because it sounds strong like the name of a leather-wearing cool guy. I like Akira and Sora for any gender; I've heard them used either way, and I feel they work great. Plus, I love the meaning of Sora: sky. I just love it, even though it's so simple.

Mayumi and Suzume are my favorites. They are lovely to say and look pretty when written down. I would honestly use either in real life. We almost used Mayumi as a middle.

I like:
Anzuko - apricot child (symbolizes timid love)
Miyuki - deep snow; beautiful snow; silence of deep snow (denotes a peaceful, serene personality)
Momoko - peach child (also has some deeper meaning)
Umeko - plum child (ditto this)

I don't hear Japanese names used very often...and as a result, don't have much of an opinion on most of them, but I love Matsuko "pine tree child". (http://www.behindthename.com/name/matsu/submitted)I like the meaning of these, and they don't sound foreign to me: Ken, Kaede, Naomi, Akira, Ren, Ryuu, Ryou.I like the sound and meaning of these, but I would feel weird using them: Chihiro, Suzume, Daisuke, Daichi, Shinobu, Kenta, Kazuko, Kumiko, Koharu, Yukiko.

Looks like this is a perfect opportunity for me to steal the spotlight lol...Anyway, I have a long list of names that I feel like randomly adding on here, so it might be fair for me to split them into groups. The meanings of kanji and/or words can be found on jisho.org.Old Feminine Names:
Hatsu (hahts, hah-tsuu - can mean "beginning" 初)
Shige (shee-ge - can mean "be luxuriant" 茂 or "heavy" 重)
Tora (toh-ṙah - can mean "tiger" 虎)
Sayo (sah-yo - can mean "evening" when used as a word 小夜)
Kan (kahn - can mean "perception" 勘)
Kuma (kuu-mah - can mean "bear" 熊)
Sue (suu-e - can mean "close" or "end" 末)
Tatsu (tah-tsuu - can mean "dragon" 龍 or it can represent the sign of the dragon 辰)
Iso (ee-so - can mean "beach" 磯)
Shimo (shee-mo - can mean "frost" 霜)
Kon (kon - can mean "navy," as in the colour 紺)
Kuni (kuu-nee - can mean "country" 国)
Ryū (ṙyuu - can mean "willow" 柳 or "dragon" 龍)
Riki (ṙee-kee - can mean "power" 力)
Seki (se-kee - can mean "barrier" 関)
Shina (shee-nah - can mean "refinement" 品)
Mina (mee-nah - can be combined with one kanji meaning "beauty" 美 and another which does have meanings but Mike describes it as a 'phonetic character' 奈)
Shin (sheen - can mean "new" 新)
Sugi (suu-gee - can mean "cedar" 杉)
Rui (ṙuu-ee - can mean "variety" 類)
Ben (ben - can mean "petal" 弁)
Mine (mee-ne - can mean "mountain peak" 峯)
Kuri (kuu-ṙee - can mean "chestnut" 栗)There are already loads of names that I put on this section. By the way, these types of names above in the Edo Period are almost always written in hiragana (at least that's the case for commoners), so it's not possible for us except some to know what it exactly means, but I did encounter a fair few in a book by Bun'ei Tsunoda whose names are written in kanji.
