[Opinions] I'd say....
Definitely the latter -- each name should be unique and different from the other. They will most likely always be viewed as one so this would give them some sort of individuality! I also kind of think that, while "matching" names for twins is cute (i.e. Deanna & Daniela) I think it might be getting kind of faux pas nowadays -- no? Maybe not, I don't know! If I had twins the only thing I might consider doing is using the same initials but reverse them -- i.e. if I like a combo with the initials A.L., I might give the other a name with the initials L.A. I probably would not match the names if I had twins.Good luck! Please let us know if your son's intuitions are right!
