[Opinions] WDYTO Marina?
I remember loving Marina as a kid, but I kind of forgot about it until the other day. Any thoughts? Is it usable?

It is usable and I know a woman called Marina who is about 40 years old. I really like Mara and Mina as nicknames for Marina.

It's okay. I am too reminded of marine centers and actual marinas to use it.

Totally usable. One of my best friends is named Marina. She loves her name. If anyone struggles with it when meeting her, she simply describes it as "the place where the boats are kept" and then they get it. I think it's very pretty, but obviously it's so tied to my friend in my mind that I can't separate it or look at it from an unbiased place.

I think it's very usable, and I like it a lot. Not as much as Maria, but there aren't too many names I like as much as Maria.

It's very pretty. I've known two girls with this name (one is currently a toddler), and it works adorably well.

I think it's nice looking and sounding, but it's also a bit hard to disassociate with the word, which makes for a strange name. When I've seen it on people irl though it seems pretty and exotic.

I like it a lot, and it's always been used where I live, though not to excess.I suppose it would depend on where you lived. Maybe next door to a yacht club, it might not be such a good idea. Also, I prefer Marinus for a boy to Marina for a girl.

I adore Marina so much so that I wish I'd used it somewhere in my dds' names. It's currently my #1 and I'd use it even though I don't live far from a marina, lol. It's definitely usable.DH, OTOH, isn't wild about the name because he was a Marine at one point and also, he thinks she'd be teased because a marina is where boats are docked. I told him that Marina means "of the sea," so it doesn't matter if it's the name of a place where boats are docked. I added that Marina has been used as a name since about the 12th century and it's the name of royalty. Sigh, I just love it. I'd love to meet someone, anyone, named Marina. :-)
