Help[Opinions] Spazele.
I bumped into a little Basil (pronounced the British way) yesterday and at first thought the mom said Spazele (spaz-ul). I've decided it's a great name for a cat. Thoughts? (I was relieved when I realized it was Basil instead of some extremely odd family surname.)
The moral of Pete's story is: No matter what you step in, keep walking along and singing your song... because it's all good.

I think any -azzle name makes a great name for a pet. Give 'em the ol' razzle-dazzle, Spazele.
I have to admit though, upon first seeing the subject I thought it was pronounced 'spuh-zelly' which would be a great surname.

Spazele would be a great name for a cat! It kinda reminds me of Spaetzle - the tasty German noodle. Also an excellent name for an animal.

I took a look at a recipe for spaetzle, and it's nearly identical to a recipe for knoephla (http://germanrussian.weebly.com/knoephla.html)
So no wonder I couldn't remember it. I make spaetzle, but I just call it knoephla!

Never heard the word knoephla, my family has always called it spaetzle! I make it too. Ha

My husband has a nephew named Basile, French pronounciation. In the family, he's called Basso, his wife calls him Basile, though.

In print it looks like something on an Italian restaurant menu. Beef spazele with creamy mushroom Marsala sauce.
Given the pronunciation, it sounds like a rude thing to call somebody who is acting stupid. Like spazz, only maybe a bit more affectionate.
