I named a character Genesis once when I was a kid drawing picture books :P I like it in theory but I think it's too biblical and wordy for real life. I'd use it for a horse though. It doesn't have enough good nicknames to use for a human IMO. Gene? Genny? Jenny? Gen? Jen? Sis? meh.
