I think it's cute. I don't understand the big deal about nicknames honestly. They're not permanent or have to go on any papers.
I think cutesy and dorky nicknames are the best, they're full of character. I particularly like the juxtaposition of how gentle and sophisticated Daphne is with how funny and clunky the nickname Daffy is.
Really the only thing that matters is how Daphne feels about the nickname. And she's a baby right now, I think... right? So when she's older she might hate being called Daffy or she might like it and that's all that matters.
