[Opinions] Forsythia
Do you think Forsythia works as a girl's name, or is it dumb?

I think it would be totally awesome. It's not an unheard of plant and it's got lots of pizazz. Wisteria, Azalea, Zinnia, Camellia and Magnolia are in the same vein. Flashy plant names. I love them.

It's not dumb, but it seems like it's trying too hard. Where I live, people tend to pronounce it like "for Cynthia," and I think that people would accidently add an "n" making it Forsynthia. It also kind of seems like a name of a disease. So I don't think that it would work.

It's dumb. I sure as hell wouldn't want it for my name. It's a hissing mouthful of lithping hisses. And I'm not crazy about the plant either.

I don't like the plant much, either. Here, if we get a very cold winter(and we usually do), but not much snow so as to cover the shrub, it won't flower.

I don't, because the surname in it is just too surnamey and obvious. Same with Fuchsia.
Unlike Dahlia and Zinnia, which pass as first-namey to me because the one-syllable Dahl and Zinn don't jump out. And Magnol isn't recognizable to me as a surname in Magnolia.

I feel like if Magnolia, Daisy, Dahlia, Juniper, and Rosemary are not unheard of, then why not have Forsythia join them. I actually think that could grow on me, although only in the middle spot. Reminds of of how fond I am of Hyacinth as a middle name.
