[Opinions] Seamus
I have been really liking this one lately. I find it attractive on an adult and endearing on a child. I realize there are some attributes of the name that are a little odd, like the word shame (et al...), but I like it despite those things.I feel like a Seamus would be a neat kid.Thoughts? I have an Irish grandparent, so it would not be odd.Do you like Seamus Isaac?

Nice fairly average Irish name. It's common enough in Ireland though mainly in adults.Overall I like Seamus and don't think the name odd.

I adore Seamus. It's so handsome. I'd consider using it for sure. Seamus Henry has been my go-to for awhile.I also really like Seamus Torin

Seamus is a fine name. Not my style but that doesn't matter.Seamus Isaac just doesn't seem right. I think a different MN would work better.

I like it; it calls to mind a rangy, rakish guy. Seamus Heaney is a treasure.Seamus Isaac is merely okay -- you can do better.

Seamus Aaron is my favorite Nintendo character, haha, I will see myself out!

I am probably not the person to ask, but the only Seamuses I've ever met (2) have been Golden Retrievers. No joke.So to me, it isn't just a dog name, but a Golden Retriever name.

My sister's Irish Setter....(m)and best as a dog name, IMO.Seamus Isaac is a huge clash in styles.

I like it but it's too Irish for me, in the sense that I don't like how Americans say it. Shay-mus just isn't quite right - the same way Kayt-lin for Caitlin isn't right, only Shay-mus is much more subtly wrong. But whatever, that's just something I'd think was important if I was doing the naming myself. People use Seamus in the US and we say it the way we do and life goes on, and it's not a bad name. Seamus Isaac is okay. nms.

I thought it was okay until you pointed out "shame" and now I don't like it at all. :(

I love it! I always think I just like it until I hear it in real life then I'm all like SWOON. I've heard it on a couple or little boys lately. I would probably consider using it if I identified at all with the Irish side of my background.I don't think Isaac quite fits with Seamus. It's a bit too stiff and academic, while Seamus is more laid back and adventurous.
