[Opinions] Mira or Ada
For some reason, I'm in love with the name Mira lately. I like how it's used (and pronounceable) in many different languages, it's short but not nickname-y and it's easy to spell but not too common. I found it when I was looking for names like Ava (which is lovely but way too popular for me).But then there's also Ada, like Ava but again not as popular. It's a cool reference to Ada Lovelace, it's also short and easy to spell but interesting and pretty. What do you prefer? Also, is there anything horrible about either of these names that I'm not seeing (awful meanings in other languages, terrible nicknames, etc)

I prefer Ada pretty much for the reason's you've listed. I also think it's sturdier than Mira.Mira is also such a common Spanish word that I can't get past it sometimes. It means "look", but it's also sort of just used to start sentences, like "hey listen up". (Anyone who knows Spanish better than I do can elaborate!)

I love the namesake, but Ada is terribly clunky sounding, while Mira is pretty and strong at the same time

Ada. Mira sounds like mirror.xo

Ada!I love Ada! It's sweet and unassuming.

Ada!I prefer Ada. I think it's a lovely vintage choice, a substantial name with more oomph than Ava. And I like the Ada Lovelace connection. Mira's okay, and actually very close to my middle name, but I like Ada better.

1000% MiraI've always loved the name Mira. Ada is nice but when going up against a beauty like Mira it can not compare.

Mira! Because Ada sounds bad in my language. But I love it, too

Ada, because the only Ada I've met was a sweet old lady while the only Mira I've met was kind of b*tchy.

Mira...I love the multiple meanings from different languages.

Mira is cute and has warmth to it. It's also underused.Ada has never done anything for me - it's one of those "old" names that I always thought sounded weird and very old timey. But I see it coming back like Ava did (which I also wasn't a fan of before it got popular so there you go.)
