Help[Opinions] Taliesin
I was bored so I went on the Child Of Our Time website, because I like tuning in to the show to see the kids' names, and I think I've found out that can even beat the most unusual I've found on there yet (Tennyson, for those who were wondering). The name I've found is:
Taliesin
So what do you all think? Personally I quite like the way it sounds, and the meaning and story behind it are quite cool too. But I'm not sure I would use it myself, except possibly for a character in my fantasy novel, because it's just too unusual even though I know that shouldn't stop me or anything.

Well, I can only say: I love it!
I have never heard of the architectural thing (I'm from Germany) but it is one of my top lists with Julian, Morgaine, Lillian, Vivian, Arthur and Gideon. Yepp, I like Mist of Avalon :-)
I actually knew someone with that name, he's probably about 55 now, and I'm not sure it was his real name, but I'm certainly considering it. I also like the story behind the name. (My name is Ceridwen btw, one story says, Taliesin mother, so I would love that even more!).
The only combo I have so far is Taliesin Drystan Leaf.
Glad there is someone out there who likes it too.

I like it--but then, I'm a fan of Frank Lloyd Wright. I've never been to the house he named Taliesin, but I've driven by it and I've always wanted to visit.
I think it's a very cool name, and the nickname Tal would be quite attractive. There's a lot of layers to it, which I like--on the one hand, it's very Welsh, but on the other hand, it's an American landmark (albeit not the best-known of them). It can be long and silvery-sounding and neat, or it can be short and snappy and neat. I like it. :)
