My Grandma sent my Grandpa down to register the birth of my auntie and their second daughter... But he got her first and middle names the wrong way round! So officially she was Margery and has been her whole life, but this was my Grandma's name so she's always gone by Barbara (the name she was supposed to be!)
I had a friend in my teenage years called Chris. But he went by Crispie and for years I struggled with why! Then I found out his middle name was Phoenix and a member of his family had put Chris and P together - and there born was Crispie.
Growing up my cousin James was regularly called 'Jimmy James' within the family.
My Uncle Jim's name is actually Walter.
My Grandpa was William Henry but he always used to go by Harry.
