[Opinions] Re: Philippa
I first came across it as the name of the wife of Edward III, I suppose the same queen you are referring to, in a novel. It was the name of two other characters also, as many women were named after her during her reign.I was not sure at first, and for quite a while, how to pronounce it -- FIL-e-pa or fil-LEEP-a. I found out eventually it's FIL-e-pa. Or is fil-LEEP-a an accepted pronunciation at all?Anyway, I don't like it much, but it's not horrible.
