I like Janine alright. I'm not much into names ending with the een sound but Janine is pretty shiny as they go.
I also like Jeannine (zha-neen). Maybe a bit more than Janine.Janine Mariel
Janine Calista
? it's kind of hard to make combos with.

It's obviously a little dated, but I really like it. I think it could work on a woman of any age, it's cute, it's easy to spell and pronounce. As for pairings....Janine Olivia
Janine Alexandra
Janine Coralie
Janine Annabel
Janine Aurelia

I like Janine. I think it's an easy one to gloss over, though... I feel this way about a lot of -ine names for some reason. Janine, Nadine, Pauline, etc. are all perfectly pretty names, but they're all sidekicks to me. I wonder why that is.Anyway, I'd pair Janine with something like Marisa, Elise, or Katrina. Familiar twists on English classics. =P

My 10-year-old niece's name is Janine. I think it's rather sweet. It was more popular in the past than it is now; on the other hand, it was never mega-popular, which makes it seem less "dated" and more "retro." My sister struggled with the spelling for a while, and finally decided to go with the most crisp and clear spelling, Janine, and I agree it was the best choice. My niece is Janine Carys.

It's okay. Very dated and kind of mumbly, but much more attractive than Jane.
