I find it cutesy and elegant at the same time. I like it a lot =)

I love it! I prefer it as a nickname for something grandiloquent and unwieldy like Ludivine Laetitia, Lucretia Lalage, Lucrezia Lazarina, Lucetta Laurentine, etc.

Finally, someone other than me likes this name! I love it actually, because it's short, simple and sweet. It also reminds me of my maternal gran who used to sing the song, "Be Bop A Lula" with my boys, in particular my oldest DS. I think it's lovely and would consider using it somewhere in the combo if this baby is a girl.

It's lovely as a pet name for Tallulah or something like Louise, but I think it needs a 'proper' name to be short for. I do like it though, (one of my favourite fictional characters is Lula in the Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich)

It's the nickname of one of my country's former presidents. Can't really see it as a name.

I think it's comical. Hard to take seriously.

A bit too common. Should be a nickname for Lululiana (one of my new favorites!). Or you could consider the variant Hula.

It's awful. Lula sounds like some obese, barefoot-and-pregnant hillbilly from 1940, with ten kids already, and no teeth because she dips snuff all the time.

To cutesy for me, too nicknamey. I much prefer Luna.

I like it, but its too nicknamey for me to realistically use.

I love Lula (as well as Tallulah)! A short and sweet name that seems full of energy, and fun. It just sort of feels like a happy name, that would belong to a very lovely, cheerful girl or woman.

I kinda like it, and it's the name of an Evanovich character (and I looooooooove her books!), but it just reminds me of a country bumpkin who always has a piece of straw in her mouth. lol I do have the name Tallulah (a name you can get Lula from) as a GP, though!

hahaha I just posted about Stephanie Plum....Lula and Grandma mazur are who I aspire to be. ..

Doesn't it mean Shrimp or Prawn in Portuguese? Granted, it doesn't appeal to me anyway, but all I can see is pink deliciousness and black boiled eyes.

No it does not

You're right - it's calamari (squid) - thanks!

I generally really like two syllable girl names beginning with L and ending with a: Luna, Lyra, Lexa, Lila etc.Lula is no exception; I like it but I find it sometimes a little cute-sy compared to some of the names above.
