I'm still bitter that so many people see it as a male-only name. I wanted to name Miriam Noa - I loved the meaning (motion) and it would have suited her. But I would have had to explain her name to everyone.

It's a great name, I like it a lot. I have a new little nephew, who is around 6 weeks old named Noah James. I think the combo is nice, but too traditional for me.

I have never liked Noah and it is insanely popular where I live. It seems like every other boy is named Noah.

Yes, it's definitely too popular. I actually prefer it on a girl spelled Noa or Noah (there was a female Noah in the Bible as well). It has a nice sound but it is overused and a little boring. I would use it for neither gender due to its popularity.
