[Facts] Interesting BBC article on naming trends and influences
It suggests, among other things, that the Industrial Revolution weakened the practice of naming babies in honour of forebears.

I saw that! Thought it was really interesting and makes sense. Basically says that we're still influenced in similar ways than people in the 19th century were. I did find it interesting that the Industrial Revolution broke down family structure and therefore helped broaden the names given to children.
