Personal preference, I suppose. I've seen names with vowels that don't make sense at all. They don't change the pronunciation. Carliea comes to mind. Why not Carlia? Or Kelsiie. Why not Kelsey?
I'm sure Shanikca will get plenty of experience spelling out her name. OTOH, I've seen much, much worse.
