[Opinions] Hayley
What do you think of Hayley? I've always really liked it for a girl. But I only really like it spelled Hayley and I think a lot of people might spell it Haley or Hailey. Which is your favorite spelling?Do you know which is the original spelling? I think it is Hayley because I once read that this spelling was first used in Britain where the Name originates from and as it means something with hay I guess Hayley makes the most sense but I am not absolutely sure about this.

Favourite spelling: Hayley but Hailey is nice too

I just find it really boring and forgettable, like Emily and Kiley. If you are absolutely going to use it, I would steer clear of the Haley spelling because people pronounced that Hal-lee like Halle Berry, vs Hay-lee.

My 12 year old daughter is named Hayley so I obviously love the name and this spelling.

Haley is the most common and looks dull. Hayley is my favorite

I like Hayley, too; it's pretty and just has a different vibe from the other two. My favorite is Haley. No idea about the origin offhand. I've also seen Hailee, Haleigh and Haylee too.

It means "hay clearing", and I do believe Hayley is the original spelling. :-)But idk about my fave spelling...I've gone back and forth between Hailey, Hayley, Haley, Haylie, and Hailie. Right now, it's Hailie, though, and I've used that spelling on a character.

Hayley as a girls' name came first here & charted in the 1970s, but I worked with one who'd be 60 now, and Hayley Mills, who started the trend of using it on girls, was born in 1946.
The Hayley spelling looks more feminine to me because I'm used to it being a female first name - I've never seen the others irl, except as surnames. It's a bit dated here though, and nms.

It's okay, but I find it a little awkward to say. The different spelling variations could be a bit of a headache. I like the Hayley spelling best also.

I like it pretty well. I'm not particular about the spelling; Hailey or Hayley, but Haley is less preferred. As to what's the "original" spelling, well, a lot of times nobody really knows for sure, and more than one might have originated at the same time. When I see it used as a last name, it's most often Haley.
