[Opinions] Nicknames For Desdemona?

Wildcard suggestion
Everyone else has already suggested my first thoughts.
I just wanted to add a wild-card option: Emerald, nn Merle.
I was over at babynamegenie.com the other day. A parent to be was asking what others thought about Emerald as a name. Loving it, I clicked on that thread. Someone else responded with Merle as a nickname which I thought was kind of brilliant. It means "blackbird" which is neat in and of itself. But it could work really well for your character. It sort of sounds like Merlin. And Emerald has a magical quality to it, at least to my ears. Make those green eyes and you may be on to something. Good luck! :0)

Ah. I see. Sorry. I read too quickly. The Blackard must have subliminally given me the idea for blackbird.
Desdemona Morgana is lovely. Morgana has grown on me lately, ever since the "Vikings" actress Morgane Polanski (plays Princess Gisela) appeared. Morgana is dark and mysterious, but alluring and romantic too.

Dizzy? Or Daisy? Both sound deceptively harmless, which should be perfect.
Desi or Mona seem like nick names her friends and parents would call her by. As someone who wants to be an evil cult member, she might try to sound more imposing by insisting on being called Demona or by her full name only. Since she is still a teenager, you could create an interesting divide between her identity as teen with parents and school and her attempts to become evil as part of a cult. At home she could Desi or DeeDee and as Demona with the Disciples of Death.
Yeah, I was thinking the same thing, like for instance her birth surname was Fey but she changed to Blackard for her own agenda!
Dede (dee-dee)
Demona?
