[Opinions] Fay
Replies
I really like Fay, I think it is a beautiful name and I love the meaning, prefer Fay but I also like Fae and Faye, I would only use Fae only for stories, it would be great for a fantasy, mystical story. Faye is a bit heavy which is why I would use Fay instead.

Fay/Fae/Faye etc. has been a long time favourite of mine. Sweet and simple, but I love the magic, whimsy, and slight darkness behind it, which I think adds a bit more personality to Fay. I went on a bit of a faerie, folklore kick a while ago, and I've loved it ever since. Fae (or Fey) is my preferred spelling, because I like the closeness to the word 'faerie' (I just love how it looks) and it evokes more mystery, history, and imagery to me.
I love the simple, elegant sound of Fay, although this is my least favorite spelling of it. I usually gravitate toward Faye, though I personally know someone named Fae and find that spelling really cool to see in real life. For some reason, my eyes have decided Fay needs an "e" in it somewhere.
When I was much younger (as in, had just joined these boards), I actually preferred the spelling Fey, but now realize that spelling has too many negative connotations.

It's one of my favourites too, I think it oozes charm haha. I prefer Faye as it looks more elegant and complete and is more aesthetically pleasing to me: second choice would be Fay and lastly Fae, which to me gives off a more childish vibe.
Fay and Fae remind me of fairies, folklore and fairytales, whereas Faye doesn't. Wonder why.

Fay because it seems more traditional.
