One letter can make all the difference. While I greatly dislike Brenda, I do like Brenna very much. It has a softer feel than Brenda AND Mara which has always come across as quite harsh to me. And then there's the meaning, 'bitter.'
Based on sound, they're both attractive. I just prefer Brenna.
