Delilah. Jezebel is kind of...more "mean".

DelilahMaybe she is a bad Biblical character, but the association with the Plain White T's song overrides that association. It's also prettier, and at least it's not a euphemism for a slut!

Definetely Delilah(:

While both have less than savory Bible backstories, Jezebel has I think held onto the associations much stronger. So I'd have to pick Delilah, though I don't much like either, for associations or sound.

Delilah. It's okay to use, whereas Jezebel is just asking for trouble; the name is a euphemism for tramp, not to mention reminding people of the word jizz. I would say calling your child Jezebel constitutes child abuse.

DelilahDefinitely Delilah. They have about the same negative Biblical association, but I think Delilah is very pretty and Jezebel not at all so._______________________________________________________________________________________________

DelilahI don't think Jezebel is usable.

DelilahI prefer how it sounds, and in all honesty Jezebel screams slut/stripper/cow to me, and I like names like Trixie and Honey. This is probably one of the few times I prefer the more popular name haha.

Delilah. It's more user friendly and appealing to me.

I kind of like Jezebel more, but if it's for a real child I think Delilah's more useable.

Hey there (Delilah) ! XD

For ppl with knowledge of the Bible, neither have good associations. I'd go Delilah, it sounds heaps prettier than Jezebel.

JezebelNo contest there.

I couldn't choose Delilah. I'd be hearing the voice of Tom Jones every day of my life.Jezebel, then. I don't mind her as a character at all, but I'd much prefer almost any other -bel name. Isobel! Annabel! Rosabel! Even Christabel, which I'd consider if I had even one religious bone in my body. Oh well.

I actually like both of them! Since Jezebel carries more baggage than Delilah, I'd go with Delilah. As an aside, DH's family had a dog named Jezebel when he was a child and I've considered Delilah for a dog. I just may get to use it one day; it would give our new addition, Teodora ("Dora"), a playmate. ;-)

God, I like both of them! But I have to chose Jezebel since I don't like the nickname Lila for Delilah! I do love all the nickames of Jezebel and I even have a character with this name!
