[Opinions] Anna or Matilda?
Which would you choose?

Matilda
Anna is my middle name and it seems to be either the first name or the middle name of 50% of all Swedish women (the other half have Maria as their first or middle name). I know and have known at least TWENTY Annas and it's a BORING, BORING, BORING name.
Matilda is the name of one of my cousins. It's pretty common here, too, but not compared to Anna.

Ahhhh.... So torn!
I really like both of these names but I don't love either of them
I'd use nicknames for both especially on young children.
- Anna "Annie"
- Matilda "Mattie"
I despise Tilly.
I think I'd plump for Matilda; it has more substance than Anna and thought would suit better with any siblings I would give a Matilda.

100% Matilda
Mattie/ Matty and Tillie/ Tilly are both adorable nn's. Millie also works as a nn and I am very fond of it but my husband has a young cousin with the name Millie so I'd never use it as a nn for Matilda but I hope some one else has.
I associate Matilda with the Roald Dahl character which is a plus.
Anna is nice but so boring. It is also the name of my cousin so I'd never use it.
I might choose Ariana/ Arianna or Mariana/ Marianna over Matilda. It would definitely be a more difficult choice.

Matilda
Both are nice.
Both are nice.
Mathilda.
I say Anna. It's been a life-long favorite, even though it is seeming a bit dull to me in recent years. It's still so much prettier than Matilda, which I suspect I only (mildly) like because it's so "now."

I'd never choose Anna, which I find horribly dull, heavy and lacking in charm. Matilda is strong and timeless and pretty and was the name of my Best Dog Ever, so yeah.
In the 18th century, when English poetry was probably at its lowest point ever, people often published under assumed names, and one woman chose to call herself Anna Matilda. Her poems were awful, but so were the poems of a man who launched upon a totally respectable versified love affair with "Anna Matilda", and she reciprocated! Lovelorn lyrics spouted forth on both sides, until - bad mistake - they met. Disaster! The soppy rhymes dried up instantly. So I was quite amused to see you putting these names together ...

I love both, but Anna is in my top 10, mainly because of a character I adore, so there's no contest.
