[Opinions] Guinevere
What do you think of Guinevere? Is is usable in real life or is is just too much? How about in the middle name spot?I'm really liking Margaret Guinevere or possibly even Guinevere Margaret. But again, too much? Any other good Guinevere combos?

It's one of my long-time favorites. I used to struggle with whether it was usable in the real world, until I spoke to a student named Guinevere, who said it was fine to call her Gwen. I realized it was perfectly usable - just like another favorite, Morgana (I know one, personally).Frankly, it's a gold mine for nicknames. You have Gwen, Guin / Gwynne, Vera...Right now, my favorite combo is Guinevere Elise. I'm not normally a fan of Margaret, but it does go well with Guinevere (as Guin's middle).

I really like Guinevere. Although not the happiest of stories, I do like the link to Arthurian legend, as it brings up a lot of imagery I like. It feels historical, and I think due to the character in Merlin, it has a good deal of strength to it. Overall I just like the sound, look and feel. I'm not too bothered about it being over the top, but some probably do class it as so. I think Margaret Guinevere sounds great, even though I'd prefer Guinevere as a first, out of the two. Guinevere's great in either spot in my opinion. Guinevere Alice
Guinevere Fae
Guinevere Iris
Guinevere Winter
Guinevere Demelza
Guinevere Xanthe
Guinevere Snow
Guinevere Elodie
Guinevere Fleur
Guinevere Calla
Guinevere Celia
Guinevere Sonnet
Guinevere Eliza
Guinevere Frances
Guinevere Verity
Guinevere Poppy
Guinevere MargauxI think some of these would work great in reverse too.

It is fairly usable as a fn but it is 100% usable as a mn. I slightly prefer it as a mn but just barely. Margaret Guinevere is a really gorgeous combo. So is Guinevere Margaret but it doesn't flow as well with my surname - which I often test names against - but it goes better with some other surnames. Here are some Guinevere fn combos I came up with. I am not certain how I feel about all of them:
Guinevere Rosalie, Guinevere Rosalyn, Guinevere Rosalind, Guinevere Catherine, Guinevere Pearl, Guinevere Opal, Guinevere Iris, Guinevere Violet, Guinevere Lily, Guinevere Rose, Guinevere Diantha, Guinevere Eirlys, Guinevere Celeste, Guinevere Estelle, Guinevere Adeline, Guinevere Aurelia, Guinevere Aveline, Guinevere Lorraine, Guinevere Elaine, Guinevere

I love it! It used to be in my top 10, but I'm currently loving Gwendolyn slightly more and I try never to have similar sounding names in my top 10. Anyway, I don't think it's too much as a first name. Both Guinevere Margaret and Margaret Guinevere are perfect, imo. :)

I totally forgot about this name. This was my Number 1 favorite name in April. I like it a lot. This and Gwendolyn. It fits better as a middle name, personally. But does go good as a first name sometimes. Ex..Guinevere Ann
Guinevere Marie
Guinevere Victoria
Guinevere Teresa----------------------Good first names for Guinevere as a middle name:Mary Guinevere
Anna Guinevere
Rosemary Guinevere
Margaret Guinevere
Suzanne Guinevere

I really don't think Guinevere is too much. To me it's rather modest (in the same camp as Marian) and the one I know is quite reserved and lovely. Both Guinevere Margaret and Margaret Guinevere are okay, but I feel like both names vie for attention against each other and I prefer that the other name be a bit more secondary. Combos that I like:Guinevere Mary
Sibyl Guinevere
Esme Guinevere
Margaret Ellen
Margaret Susannah
