I like Eva more than Eve. Eva is more of a name to me. Eve is word-y (although I like many words as names) and a bit flat. Eva has more spunk, Eve would make a lovely middle name. But I prefer Evelyn over those two ;)

Eva.

I prefer Eve. I think its simplicity makes it stunning. It's elegant and understated.I never know how to pronounce Eva. Is it pronounced like Ava or is it like Eve with an a at the end? And if it's the first, Ava is easier and if it is the second, it looks like an unnecessary "dressing up" of Eve.

Eva, by far!especially as a nn for Evangeline. Eve just doesn't have any personality, imo; Eva is way livelier!

EvaEve is fine but Eva is a less plain IMOEve also seems more like a nn rather than a full name.

I prefer Eve. I think it's gorgesous! I think I do I refer it as a mn though. I do like Eva, but it sounds harsh to me at times. It's prn as E-va where I'm from, not like Ava.

Eve, by a longshot. Eva is just too close to Ava and frankly I am sick to death of that name after 15 years of relentless usage. Even aside from that, I prefer Eve, which to me is elegant and classy, whereas Eva strikes me as brash and brassy.

Eva. Eve seems unfinished. Good for a middle name. Not a fan of either, but I'd choose Eva.

I think I prefer Eva. I used to vastly prefer Eve, it was one of my favorites a few years ago. I also didn't like Eva because I knew one I didn't have the best associations with. But now the associations are starting to fade. Eve, which I used to love, has begun to sound very bland to me. I also don't really care for Evie. So I guess I would go with Eva. It just sounds fresher and more modern than Eve. I'm not a fan of either name, to be honest. I would much prefer Ava and Evelyn over both of them.

I'd always tend to prefer the longer over the shorter form; that way, if you need a nn for whatever reason, the longer form can shorten to the shorter, but not vice versa. Eva can become Eve; Eve can only become Evie which I don't find nearly as attractive.FWIW, I had an aunt called Eva. My grandmother told me that they chose the name "because she was our first" (!) and because there wasn't a short form (she and my granddad both went by the very common nns of their fns all the time). With that, my aunt came into the room and offered us tea. Granny said "Thank you, Eve" without blinking.

I love both but would have to go with Eve due to its stunning simplicity and also because it's much less common than Eva (and Ava).

I prefer Eva, although Eve is less popular as a standalone name.

Eva.Evelyn /Eve / Evie is so popular right now. Eva is similar but so much more underused!
