In English I would pronounce it A-KAY-see-uh. It's a pretty name, but I like Arcadia more.

I love Acacia. I pronounce it the same as you do. I knew a girl named Acacia growing up and I always thought it was such a lovely name. She also pronounces it the same as you do, fwiw.

It's really grown on me. I pronounce it the same way you do. I went to college with an Acacia who went by Casey.

It's a wonderful tree; grows where most others can't and is generous with fluffy yellow flowers and long seed pods. But, living where I do and where it does, I've never heard Acacia used as a human name (there's a suburb called Acacia Park near where I live) and I'm willing to believe that it's because of its long, mean and menacing thorns.

Anyone who reads Rudyard Kipling's Just-So Stories will remember the Wait-A-Bit Thorn Tree in the story of How the Elephant Got His Trunk. That's an acacia. Its Afrikaans name translates as Hook-And-Stab, because it's got both straight and curved thorns.

Hmmm ah-KAY-sha or ah-KAH-see-ah, not sure. I guess the former. It used to be one of my favorite names many many years ago. Now I don't care for it anymore. It seems harsh and thorny :P I liked Acantha too, now they both seem to harsh to me.

Oddly, I've met three little girls named Acacia. I have no idea what it's so popular in my little corner of the world. I've only ever heard it ah-KAY-shuh.

I hate this name. Everyone who never heard of it will most likely pronounce it "ah-kahk-ee-ah". Other than that, I don't like how it sounds and looks.

Acacia's not bad. I dont love it but it's not horrible. However it is very 'harsh' sounding, its not soft by any means.

I like it and I pronounce it the same way you do. I think that in real life it would be mispronounced quite a bit. I've never seen it used but would be glad to meet one.

I tend to say ə-KAY-shə (or uh-KAY-shuh which may be the same as your prn.). One of my favorite names! It's a "plump" sounding name, I'm not sure what I mean by that but that's the best way I can describe it... like it sounds "ripe" or... "green". I guess it probably sounds that way to me because I think of the fluffy, full leaves of the tree.

I pronounce it the same way you do. It has a pretty sound and I've never seen it used before. But apart from that I don't have much opinion on it either way. It's unusual, and yet nothing about it grabs my attention or makes it particularly special.

I really like it. It seems like a secretive, mystical name and reminds me of the summer I spent working in the freemason archives. Acacias are a big deal for them. It represents something... immortality or renewal I think? Good memories, good associations for me.

It makes me think of insects, I think because it makes me think of the word "cicada". If not for that, I'd like it. I'd assume it's pronounced e-KAYSH-a.

Anywho, yeah, Acacia...not a fan. It sounds made up, even though I know it isn't. I wouldn't use it.

I don't actually like it, but there's worse. I say it the same way you do.

I like the name Acacia. I've only ever seen it used once in real life and I thought it was quite striking. There are other names I like more but I'd be pleased to see it used.
