[Opinions] Henriette
I fell in love with Henriette! Do you like it? I think it might be a nice alternative for people who love Charlotte but find it too common.

I like it alright with a French or quasi-French pronunciation (awn-ree-ET). It's kind of pretty that way. But Henriette has "hen" in it and just really sounds like "a girl who would have been Henry if she'd been a boy" to me. Henry-ette. Without the French pronunciation, I think Henriette is not a good alternative to Charlotte. With it, maybe it would be. But Henrietta "Henry-etta" is well known enough, that it might seem as strange to pronounce Henriette "awn-ree-ET" as it would to pronounce Charlotte with a hard CH like English Charles.

I really like Henriette with the French pronunciation (En-ree-ett). But to say it like that I have to think about it and put on a bit of an accent, as I can't do it much justice in my own. And I don't like Hen-ree-ett. I feel like it's missing the a to make Henrietta, whereas En-ree-ett sounds complete. I think it'd be great if I knew everyone would say it the French way, but I doubt the majority of people in the UK or English speaking countries would instinctively say it like that. In this case I think it'd be too much trouble to correct, so personally I'd keep it in the middle. But Henriette (said how I like it) is very beautiful, sophisticated, and elegant; a really great name with some interesting, historical imagery.

I much prefer Harriet, and would use it given enough daughters. Where I live, Henriette would be hen-ree-ET, which is enough to put any thinking person off it for life.Edited to fix a typo.
