Emma - prefer how it sounds

Definitely Gemma since it is not so popular. Plus it feels a bit more substantive and I love the gemstone connection.

I'm going with Emma, but I'm pretty neutral on both of them.
Gemma. I agree with hylo... not that modesty is exactly what strikes me most about Emma, but that's a nice way to contrast these 2 names. Gemma is, yeah, flashier and tackier - but Emma is so totally lacking in those qualities, that just about any name that isn't Anna or Mary or Sarah, is relatively flashier and tackier than Emma. I think Gemma's no tackier than, say, Iris, Karen, Caitlin, or Erica.
Gemma doesn't even remind me of Emma anyway. It's like the huge difference between Bella and Ella.

Ok, you do pronounce of Gemma with hard G, right? Or with zh- pronounciation?
