[Opinions] Sky
So what are your thoughts on the name Sky for a girl? Do you think it will age well? What mn would you use? Thanks.Sarah -

I like quite a few naturey names, but Sky isn't one of them. It comes off as a rather tarty name in my opinion - not much substance/flaky, and not someone who is particularly nice/wholesome. That's just my impression. It fits with Jasper, but not with Jethro.

I love Sky for a boy, I really dislike it for a girl. I've never taught a nice female Sky.

It's nice. Something you don't hear a whole lot but isn't bizarre. I do prefer the spelling of Skye and do see it more as a middle name. Like Sabrina Sky\Skye for an example

Ah, I thought of it on the top of my head. It does sound decent enough even despite being an alliteration combo

We have an older client at work named Sky, so I can easily see it aging well. It works for her.I really like the name. It's simple and sweet and it's a nature name that doesn't make me roll my eyes. I approve.

I like Sky and the spelling Skye for a girl.I have a hard time loving one syllable names, but I do like quite a few of them. The only ones that I have ever loved were Quinn, Finn, and Tighe for boys, Maeve and Fern for girls.Sage and Sky are both lovely but I can't quite love them. I think that you are the person who loves Sage but I might be mistaken. I encourage you to use either of them if you love them especially since they are such great names. I also feel that they age well.

I really like Sky. My mum used to babysit one sometimes when I was a lot younger, and I love the imagery it has. One reason I prefer the Sky spelling is for the image, and to me Skye almost seems like an honouring name, for the aisle of Skye or something (but maybe that's because I live in the U.K). Sky's always come across as a fun, energetic, playful name, and I like that. It ages fine in my opinion. I'm actually in the process of looking for her second middle. I used to have Sky Lillian Arietta, but I only really like the Sky Arietta part now. Sky Arietta Ivy or Sky Arietta Blake are the best I've come up with so far, but I'm not feeling either of them much. Anyway, I think Sky's awesome!

I'm sorry but I don't care for it. I don't think it is something that ages well either. Skylar I may could tolerate better. Just nms but if you love it that's all that matters.

I like Sky...it isn't my style at all but I think it is pretty and airy and I do think it ages well. I do prefer the spelling Skye though. Middle names always seem so hard for short first names!Sky Keziah
Sky Jasmine
Sky Marguerite
Sky Verity
Sky Rebecca

It's okay. I knew a not-young female Skye, late 30s I'd say, and it never occurred to me that she had too juvenile a name, so I think it ages well enough.I do prefer the E ending for a girl, though. At the same time we employed Skye, we also employed a male Sky.

I like it pretty well. I do prefer it as a mn but it is nice. I prefer Sky to Skye, even though I know Skye is just as legit; Sky just looks nicer.Sky NatalieSky AmandaSky MariaSky ElenaSky JillianSky LaurenSky Alana
