Some part of me likes it especially since Kai is a possible nn. Another part of me feels that it seems very heavy. It definitely has a lot of personality which isn't a bad thing.
I feel that Mordecai seems more youthful than Jedidiah or Obadiah and most -iah names.
I also kind of like Malachi which is similar.
I would never personally use Mordecai or Malachi purely because a lot of biblical names just feel too Christian to me which makes me feel uncomfortable but I know that most American's are Christians or were raised by Christian parents so they feel more comfortable with biblical names. The only biblical names I'd feel comfortable using are common ones like Gabriel.
You seem to mostly want Biblical names so I feel that it is a good choice for you. If you and your husband both love Mordecai you should use it someday.
